After months of daydreaming and intense financial calculations, I decided to make the biggest step forward to rent a little studio to focus on illustration and art in September 2016. Most probably the next big decision and gamble to the one I made 4 years back, which was to move to Tokyo to pursue an adventure.
Pigeonhole is situated in Higashi-Nakano, sandwiched between Shinjuku and otaku-town-Nakano. Although the studio is nothing near glamourous and situated on ground level of an old apartment building, it's a clean simple space for all creatives to come by for tea, engage in conversations and a space for occasional art/craft workshops for small groups of 4.
I realised there weren't many references to studio spaces, simple yet affordable furnishings suitable for illustrators and creatives online so I decided to do a simple post on the furnishings of Pigeonhole.
(Well, most pieces are from IKEA (otherwise stated)... but I hope this post will save you of all from the trouble of going through the IKEA website a million times like I did.)
With tons of IKEA HACK ideas online, (IKEA HACKERS, Poppytalk to name a few that I love) the possibilities are endless and you get to customize and build pieces that is best suited to your needs and budget.
Would you have any recommendations or ideas to furnishing a creative studio? What's in your studio? Let me know! :)
