Tokyo Illustrators Society - Decolele Show

Earlier last month in October, Tokyo Illustrators Society (TIS) held a show "Decolele" at Ginza Gallery G8.

Decolele as the name suggested, showcased 148 individually decorated ukeleles from the illustrators of the society.

As an illustrator myself, I just had to pop by before it ends!

This is going to Pigeon's read of the month. 👆🏻👆🏻 As a creative, I absolutely adore picture books. I was never one who read novels and thick paperback books (unless they are autobiographies and war accounts) because I found it too tiring to picture each sentence in my mind as I read through lines of words. 🙀 But I could never stop flipping through colourful picture books since I was a kid. Tsubaki mock-up. Felt like posting this on a gloomy wet Monday as I went by @happoen . I don't really do vector illustration but this one is my Favourite print and pattern till date with the balance of colours used. Also, probably the most mature illustration till date as compared to my style of illustration. It's perhaps just me but I always feel that vector makes everything very tough and "hard", that's why I tend to avoid vectors. As a Creative, being good at what you do is one, but being flexible and all-rounder at times is another important thing i tend to forget and hence constantly reminding myself. Have been doodling on the iPad Pro recently. I must say, the iPad Pro allows me to doodle my thoughts without paper wastage. It also allows me to draw quick drafts for clients before work begins. Although the iPad Pro will never replace analog painting on paper, it's nevertheless a very tool for creative development.
